Ronald Kister: Useful Tips for Project Management

Ronald Kister is a business owner currently working in the field of information technology. Being a business owner means that you have to manage, people, projects, and clients. However, project management is one of the most important responsibilities. Here are some useful tips for business owners who want to be better project managers.

Assign the right tasks to the right people. If you’re managing a project, it also means your managing the people working on that project. You have to know the strengths and weaknesses of the people on your team so that you know who to assign to what task. If you don’t give your team members the tasks they are most equipped to handle, the project won’t be what it should.

Make sure you communicate as much as possible. Communication is the key to success in terms of project development. In this day and age, there’s no excuse for a lapse in communication; technology has made it extremely easy to talk to people at a moment’s notice. Take advantage of things like instant messenger, or the business packages that telecommunication companies provide.

Have a clear vision of the final result. As a project manager, you need to see the big picture before you even start. This will help you assign people to specific jobs, direct people within those jobs, and ultimately achieve your goals. It’s your responsibility to see how all the pieces fit together so that you know how the process should develop.

Ronald Kister: Entrepreneurial Tips for Professionals

Ronald Kister has always preferred to do things himself. Even when it comes to basic home projects, he would rather work on them himself than call a technician or professional. “I like any kind of technical or mechanical challenge, and the work that goes along with learning the correct way of doing things,” he says.

He founded RKJ Consulting in 2013. He provides clients with IT management, strategic planning, project leadership and governance, risk management, and compliance services. As the principle owner, his experience includes being an entrepreneur. Here are some entrepreneurial tips for professionals working in any field.

Learn how to enjoy taking risks. You won’t be able to make any financial decision without accepting at least a minimal risk. However, risk taking doesn’t need to cause the entrepreneur anxiety. Learn to enjoy taking risks, otherwise being your own boss might not be your best career choice.

Research is the key to success as an entrepreneur. Make sure that you research every opportunity before making a final decision. If the risks outweigh the possible rewards, it’s probably a good idea not to be a part of it. Don’t be afraid to back out of a decision if the research tells you that you should.
Keep an idea journal for inspiration. Entrepreneurs are constantly coming up with ideas throughout the day, especially at the weirdest places and times. Keeping a journal of all of your ideas will help you remember everything you thought about during the day, and it will also help you sort the good from the bad.
